Invest Buffalo Niagara is the region’s nonprofit, privately funded economic development organization focused on job creation. Founded in 1999, the organization’s mission is to attract new employers to the Buffalo Niagara region through outreach to growing companies around the world. To support business attraction, expansion, and entrepreneurship, Invest Buffalo Niagara collaborates with local businesses, universities, nonprofit organizations, and elected officials to deliver a unified response to regional economic development opportunities. 

Launch NY is a nonprofit venture development organization in Upstate New York. The organization strives to identify, support, and invest in high-growth, high-impact companies to create jobs and catalyze the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Upstate NY through pro bono mentoring and access to risk capital for high-growth startups. 

NextCorps is a group of entrepreneurs, advisors, venture capitalists, and staff committed to creating the next generation of world-changing Rochester technology companies. Headquartered in iconic Sibley Square, NextCorps provides a space designed for collaboration and “creative collisions” along with the meeting, lab, and fabrication resources to help startups thrive. 

Known as one of the world’s leading talent optimization platforms, The Predictive Index (PI) uses behavioral data to help thousands of businesses—in nearly every job and industry around the world—improve their hiring decisions. Founded in 1955, The PI’s passion for understanding people and teams helps organizations align business strategy and talent strategy.

TechBuffalo is a nonprofit organization that represents and collaborates with diverse and hard-working groups throughout the western New York region to expand the tech industry. With a goal of creating 5,000 net positive jobs in tech, TechBuffalo aims to keep the tech talent cycle flowing—and growing—in Buffalo.  

Varia Ventures helps already promising startups to raise funds and grow their businesses. The organization is built upon capital, business acumen, industry-specific support systems, motivated investors, and brightest business leaders. All of these components combine to provide a platform that takes all of the tiny moving parts involved in critical growth stages and consolidates them into a streamlined platform for successful growth. 

SpinUp is the University of Toronto’s first wet lab incubator. It expands a booming entrepreneurship network that connects 12+ innovation hubs across U of T’s three campuses. SpinUp provides early-stage life science founders access to highly subsidized wet lab co-working space, equipment, and infrastructure in University of Toronto Mississauga’s (UTM) new science building. Since 2017, SpinUp supported more IP startups that any North American university outside of MIT.
